2000 Menu For Nineteenth Annual Woman Lake Spring Trip
This years planning meeting was very well attended at the Page Sports
Bar, in Bloomington. Only Morrice, Sikora, and Boettcher did not attend. It was
generally decided that due to the early spring and ice out in Minnesota, we would
go "up north" the week of the opener.
Juris and I decided to go up on Sunday the 14th instead
of the opener, Saturday May 13th, to avoid the "up north" traffic jams.
(As it turned out, the opener was very cold and extremely windy and those that
ventured out, soon returned cold, wet, windblown and fishless). The rest of the
group would wander in and out as their schedules would permit, whereas
Juris and I schedule fishing first, then everything else.
The menu this year will favor robust and hearty meals, high in protein
and taste, not necessarily low in fat (but reasonable amounts) and lower in carbohydrates,
than in past years, which stressed very low fat. In addition to the meal
ground-rules for personal use items,
each fisherperson will have to provide for their own breakfast, snacks and lunch.
Bottom line, only evening meals are being provided as a group cost.

Juris and Andrew wanted to leave early and
agreed to clean up the cabin while Bruce and I went fishing. As it turned
out it was the best catching of the trip, with Bruce catching the
largest walleye (26 1/2-inches) and I caught the largest northern
(30-inches). See our new feature:
Woman Lake Chronicles for the details. Bruce and I finished cleaning
(which took another two hours), closed the cabin and left for home. |
