2001 Menu For Twentieth Annual
Woman Lake Spring Trip

The planning meeting was held at the Page Sports Bar, in Bloomington, as usual. This years attendance was sparse with only Ozols, Zieman, Kelly, Woll, and myself. Individual schedules were rather chaotic as graduations, business trips and moving college students back home took precedence. I, myself, was attending a conference in Boston and could not arrive until Saturday.

My folks were very late this year in opening the cabin and left that task to me. Juris and Andrew were anxious to get started early this year talked me into opening up the cabin by themselves (Please! Don't tell my parents) on Thursday, two days before anyone else would arrive. I prepared a list of "cabin preparation activities" that I could only hope didn't lead to disaster. For those two days they would have to fend for themselves. When I arrived on Saturday, they only had one minor glitch that was easily fixed.

EVENING MEAL MAIN COURSES

Ingredients for making salads will be available for anyone desiring to make one.
Choice Of dressing is up to whatever one can bring, beg, borrow or steal

Thursday - May 11th

Juris and Andrew arrived mid-afternoon and opened the cabin (I hope). Nobody else was coming.

Marie's (Juris's girlfriend) fabulous beef stew and pickled eggs along with venison sticks. Sorry I don't have any recipes.
(Juris can't screw this up?)

Friday - May 12th

Hugh Perry picked up Peter Hunt at the airport and arrived at the cabin around midnight.

Leftover beef stew and pickled eggs along with venison sticks. (I hope it's all gone by the time I get up there.)

Saturday - May 13th

Pat Kelly, Rick Zieman and I arrived early afternoon. Now we are seven.

Sunday - May 14th

Lee Woll and Bruce Boettcher arrived. Now we were nine. But only momentarily, however, as Peter Hunt left late evening.

Shrimp Cocktail Appetizer
Medium Rare, Garlic Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes and Real Homemade Gravy. Served with sautéed green beans, mushrooms and onions.

Monday - May 15th

It was so cold and miserable today that Bruce and I drove to Fargo, North Dakota to pick up my walleye mount coffee table that I ordered months earlier. So only six fished today, if you could it fishing. It was more like ice fishing without the ice!

**Special Lunch Bonus**

Garlic Roast Beef Sandwiches

Evening Meal

Iceberg lettuce salad with hearts of palm and artichoke hearts
Rib eye Charbroiled steak with Burgundy savory gravy, sautéed mushrooms and onions and twice baked potatoes. Garlic bread

Tuesday - May 16th

It was so cold and miserable that all most of us did is eat! A few "nutties" fished for a while, but not me!

**Special Breakfast Bonus**

Freshly baked, pecan topped, Cinnamon Rolls

**Special Lunch Bonus (I had nothing else to do)**

Simply Great Sloppy Joe's

Evening Meal

Charbroiled Succulent, Spicy and Savory BBQ Baby Back Ribs and Chicken with Baked Beans and Garlic Bread

Wednesday - May 17th

**Special Breakfast Bonus**

Freshly baked, pecan topped, Cinnamon Rolls

Shrimp Cocktail Appetizer

Bold tomato sauce over angel hair pasta with lightly sautéed sea scallops, calamari and shrimp. Garlic bread.

Thursday - May 18th

Everybody went home. No one went fishing today. I think everyone was relieved that Mother Nature's torture was finally over.
